Lawndale Elementary School District

    How can we help you?

    Dr. Rosa Isiah, Principal
Welcome to the 2018-19 school year!

I’m excited about beginning the school year with you! I hope you had a relaxing summer. Mark your calendars for our first day of school. It is Tuesday, August 28th and we will be on minimum day schedule.

I am proud of everything we accomplished at Smith last year. You are a valuable part of our school community and I invite you to join us in the wonderful teaching and learning that occurs every day. You can support your child and our school community by joining the PTA, attending our School Site Council/English Learner Advisory Committee meetings, participating in our Parents and Literacy Sessions, and joining us at our Family Night events. I will share a monthly newsletter which outlines upcoming events and highlights the wonderful things that are taking place at school. I also encourage you to follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

This school year, Lucille Smith Elementary and the Lawndale Elementary School District will focus on the following four goals:

    • Goal 1 – Increase Academic Achievement
    • Goal 2 – Ensure Access & Equity
    • Goal 3 – Improve Parent & Student Engagement
    • Goal 4 – Provide 21st Century Learning Environments

I would like to invite you to attend our “Meet the Teacher” event on Friday, August 24th from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on the Smith blacktop. Stop by and meet your child’s new teacher, complete lunch applications, and get more information about our extraordinary before and after school program, Realizing Amazing Potential (RAP).

    Please remember…
